We are seeking an experienced Social Media Manager to join our Global Digital HQ team in Amsterdam. This position will report to the Global Digital Marketing Manager.

The job holder will be responsible for driving the social media strategy of INTERSPORT International Corp. globally.


  • Global Social Media Content Strategy
    • Implement and further develop the Intersport Global Social Media strategy
    • Owner of the INTERSPORT global social media calendar and ensure this is aligned with seasonal marketing, product & business priorities
    • Proactively works with Digital Brand Marketing Manager to develop exclusive social content opportunities between INTERSPORT and global partner brands
    • Proactively works with Digital Content Manager and Category Marketing Managers to develop engaging social content around INTERSPORT brand and exclusive brands  
    • Identifies opportunities through insights and develops innovative social content for the INTERSPORT Everyday Athlete
    • Works closely with Digital Content Manager and third parties to see content creation through from ideation to sign-off and publishing phase, including distribution of content to local markets
    • Maintain and evolve global social media content guidelines as required and ensure engagement and adoption within local market teams
    • Establish relevant KPIs and deploy adequate reporting systems to optimize campaign measurement
  • Internal INTERSPORT Social Media Community Management  
    • Responsible for managing and bringing together INTERSPORT’s internal community of social media stakeholders in the local markets
    • Acts as lead on any global partner relationships with platforms, third parties and tools to ensure the relationship is leveraged throughout the entire INTERSPORT eco-system of markets
    • Sets global KPIS and pulls together global snapshot of results and business impact of social media
    • Lead and establish best practices, assessing short and long-term campaign effectiveness and analysing competitive social performance


  • 3-5 years experience managing social media platforms within a large company and or agency, retail environment preferred
  • Detailed knowledge of all social platforms, digital trends and social software platforms and worked across owned, earned and paid social media strategies
  • You have clear and compelling ideas how to create social creatives.
  • Experienced with Social Advertising and achieving campaign objectives
  • Deep understanding of data and turning it into actionable insights to meet business objectives
  • Able to motivate and influence internal stakeholders without direct authority
  • You are fluent in English, additional language(s) is a plus
  • Experience working within either (or both) global and local/regional teams and for either (or both) brand and retailer is a plus

  • You have a hands-on mentality, with the ability to develop, implement, track and optimize new marketing initiatives across all digital channels
  • You are highly organized with the ability to work on multiple tasks in fast-growing, quickly changing company
